Happy New Year,
Last year, the year of the monkey, was a milestone for our company. Born 12 years ago, in the year of the monkey, our company’s mission was to make the world a better place, and we have taken our first step toward the next stage of accomplishing that mission.
Besides our core business as the lifesaving medical consultant, we were able to break new ground in 2016 by not only helping our clients, but also by contributing to the general public. Asphalt Green is a major New York City nonprofit organization that aims to help disadvantaged New York children take part in fun activities free of charge. Each year, they host several events, and our company became an official corporate sponsor for their most important event: the Big Swim, which they have held annually for over 20 years. Even though it’s a small gesture, I want to return our company’s profits to society to support the growth and health of those children who have a future.
Also, I organized Japan’s first-ever world reproductive medicine conference in Tokyo with Professor Yuri Hibino at Kanazawa University in May and August. As opinion n leaders in the field, Professor Hibino, Dr. Said Daneshmand, American expert in reproductive endocrinology and infertility, and I gave lectures. This was a start of educational activities for the general public.
2016 was a memorable year that divided the American people in two with the presidential election. In the election campaign, the 266th Roman Pope Francis said, “a person who only thinks about building walls, wherever they may be, and does not focus on building bridges is not a Christian.” This quote is not only about religion; I think that it is something that relates to society as a whole. I want to make small bridges, big bridges, bridges of various shapes in as many places as I can. With that in mind, from the bottom of my heart, I wish you a Happy New Year!
